Monocryl Monofilament Suture is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of poliglecaprone 25, designed for efficient soft tissue approximation and ligation. The suture is characterized by its smooth monofilament structure, which results in less tissue reaction and reduced tissue drag compared to chromic gut sutures. 

The suture is equipped with a taper point needle, facilitating smooth and precise penetration through soft tissues. The needle design supports atraumatic handling, reducing the risk of tissue damage while ensuring secure wound closure. The undyed, clear color allows versatility in various surgical fields, maintaining optimal visibility without compromising aesthetics in subcuticular closures.

Monocryl maintains approximately 60-70% of its tensile strength after one week, providing reliable wound support during the initial critical phase of healing. The suture undergoes complete mass absorption within 91 to 119 days, reducing the need for suture removal and minimizing the risk of long-term foreign body reaction.
